Dayton Jenkins Signs with Western Oregon University

Monmouth, OR –– Dayton Jenkins has officially signed with Western Oregon University, where he will continue his academic and basketball career at the NCAA Division II level.

Jenkins, a standout guard from Westview High School, put together an outstanding senior season and established himself as one of the top players in the Metro League. His signing is a special moment for Dayton, his family, Team Progress, and everyone who has been part of his basketball journey.

Dayton has been with Team Progress since 8th grade and is one of the original players in the program. His journey represents years of loyalty, growth, development, and commitment to the process. From middle school to signing at the college level, Dayton has continued to improve, compete, and stay the course.

During his senior season at Westview, Jenkins stepped into a leading role and consistently impacted the game on both ends of the floor. He averaged 17.7 points, 9.4 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.8 steals per game while helping guide Westview to a strong season.

His production, toughness, versatility, and consistency earned him 1st Team All-Metro League honors and 6A All-State Honorable Mention. Dayton’s ability to score, rebound at a high level, create for others, defend, and compete every night made him one of the most productive players in the Metro League.

At the next level, Jenkins will join a Western Oregon program that gives him the opportunity to continue developing as a student-athlete while competing in a strong NCAA Division II basketball environment. His work ethic, competitiveness, and all-around impact give him a strong foundation as he takes the next step in his career.

For Team Progress, Dayton’s signing is a special reminder of what the program is about. From joining the program in middle school, growing through the process, competing on the circuit, becoming a leader at Westview, earning league and state recognition, and now signing to play college basketball, his journey reflects the commitment it takes to reach the next level.
